Who can sell
on Retrove
Retrove is small and we add sellers one at a time. Every application is read by a person rather than a filter, so give us a few days. Here is what we are looking for, before you spend five minutes on the form.
What you need
- You are 18 or over and can pass Stripe’s identity checks. That is how you get paid, so there is no way round it.
- The stock is yours. You own it, or you have the right to sell it. Nothing ordered in after a buyer has paid.
- It is genuine second-hand or vintage, or something you make yourself.
- There is something we can go and look at: a seller profile, a website, or photographs of the pieces you are starting with.
- You describe a piece honestly. Your own photographs of the actual item, with the flaws written down next to the good bits.
- You can post an order within about two working days, and take a return inside the buyer’s 14 days.
- You keep your rail straight. If a piece sells in your shop or anywhere else, it comes off Retrove.
What we turn down
- Replicas, counterfeits, anything wearing a label that is not its own.
- Stock you have not got in your hands yet.
Approved sellers connect Stripe, bring their stock across and go live. Nothing is charged up front, and commission is a flat 10%, taken only when a piece sells. The detail is in the seller terms and the seller FAQ.
New to selling
You are welcome, and there is a path on the form for it. With no sales history for us to read, we ask what you are planning to sell and where you get it instead, so answer that one properly. An Instagram with photographs of the pieces you already have counts for a lot.
Already selling elsewhere
eBay, Etsy, Depop, Vinted, Shopify, your own site: all fine. If you sell on eBay, send us your listings when you join and we import them for you. From anywhere else you add your pieces on Retrove yourself, which takes a photo and a few details per piece. Automatic stock syncing only runs where we have a live connection to your platform; where we do not, Etsy included, you keep your Retrove rail up to date yourself, the same as selling off a shop floor.
